Alabama Rain Barrel
Project Workshop

Here's a "go green" project you'll
really get a lot out of.
The Alabama Clean Water Partnership is once again holding their
Rain Barrel Project Workshop. You'll be able to
learn about watersheds, local watershed issues, and storm water
and how it affects water quality. Rain water harvesting is
one way to help save water. And using water you collected
in a rain barrel for things like watering your garden, watering
your lawn, or even washing your car helps you save money on your
water bill and also helps the environment. At the workshop
you'll be making your own 55 gallon plastic rain barrel to take
home, so be prepared to get a little dirty. Trainers will
be there to help you put your rain barrel together. Your
rain barrel will be easy to maintain once you get it home.
There are openings available at both workshops, but spaces will
go quickly, so make your reservation early. The cost for
the workshop is $30. If you want to make more than one
rain barrel, the cost is $30 for each additional rain barrel you
make.
Virginia Madden, our qualifying broker and owner, will be there
at the workshop making a rain barrel to give away in a future
contest. So join her there and make your very own rain
barrel. Have some fun, save money, and help the
environment!
